In times of digital change, APOS OPTIC is the optimal solution because VAHLE position systems (vPOS) bundle the requirements of today as well as the requirements of tomorrow.

APOS Positioning System
VAHLE APOS positioning systems with VAHLE conductor installations have been developed for automated conveying systems to facilitate material flow.
VAHLE APOS consists of a code tape with magnetized length coding and a reading head with integrated logic which forwards the position via an interface to a central PLC.

APOS Optic Positioning System
In material handling applications, as is the case in e.g. automobile production, new assembly lines require gapless and exact positioning of the conveyor technology throughout the entire processing cycle. A task for which it is advisable to use the optically and absolutely measuring positioning system APOS Optic of the product range vPOS.
FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE
Read heads of the APOS Opticfamily are always equipped with two cameras as well as an integrated LED code strip lighting. The two cameras detect up to six DataMatrix code fields. To determine the position only one evaluable code field is required. The position is indicated with regard tothe fixing bolt. The integrated LED lighting is another factor that ensures process reliable detection. The measuring system operates with an unimpeachably detectable DataMatrix code. This permits an absolute position detection, with a maximum travel range of up to 10,000 metres. Even after voltage drops or restarts, the APOS OPTIC system delivers all absolute positions without reference motion. The lighting occurs via LED (no laser) and is basically immune to ambient light.
